It is a great honour and pleasure to begin my assignment as Switzerland’s Ambassador to Iraq. I am very pleased to be here and look forward to discovering Iraq, meeting its people and learning more about this remarkable country.
Switzerland and Iraq may be different in many ways, but our two countries share important values and a strong interest in dialogue, cooperation and building bridges between people and communities. I look forward to strengthening these connections and creating new opportunities for our countries to work together.
This is also an exciting new chapter for the Embassy of Switzerland in Iraq. With the return of visa services in Iraq, we look forward to being closer to the people we serve and making our Embassy an even stronger link between Switzerland and Iraq.
Consular matters continue to be handled by the Embassy of Switzerland in Amman. For visa applications, residents of Iraq can submit their Schengen visa applications through the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Baghdad, while the applications are processed by the Embassy of Switzerland in Amman. Please consult the relevant visa information on our website for further details.
For other matters, the Embassy will be the primary contact point for Swiss activities in Iraq. Our team stands ready to support you in your endeavours, be they in the political, economic or cultural fields.
